This Saturday, November 20th, Berkshire Pulse welcomes New York’s Perichild Instructor Angela Crain to Housatonic, MA. Crain began teaching Hip Hop dance at New York’s Premier Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center, in 2002 and recently returned to the program after finishing her degree in Performance Studies and Sociology at NYU. She teaches Hip Hop in the PeriChild Program, where the student focus is on improving technique and awareness, while experimenting with performance qualities and heightened musicality. Crain believes that dance has the pervasive capacity to break through social and cultural barriers and to promote mutual respect among artists. Her class will integrate various forms of hip hop movement into concert dance, while engaging students both physically and intellectually
This Saturday, November 6th, Berkshire Pulse welcomes Jennifer Weber to Housatonic, MA. Weber is the Founder and Artistic Director of Decadancetheatre, an all-female, hip-hop, international dance theater company based in Brooklyn, NY. “We are truly honored to welcome Jennifer”, says Bettina Montano, Founder/Artistic Director, Modern Dance Director at Berkshire Pulse. “We are excited to offer this caliber of talent to our students and to our community. We believe that dedicated artists in this profession are an inspiration to dancers and non-dancers of all ages.” Jennifer Weber will also take part in the Berkshire Pulse Cultural Traditions In-School Program, which returned to local schools this week.
