MONTHLY WORKSHOPS IN AFRICAN DANCE – OPEN LEVEL for ages 11 to adult

With Nkoula Badila

During our class sessions we will be learning different Traditional dances of Ancestral Africa, accompanied by live percussion. These movements will be celebratory of the celebration of life. The students will learn Dances of cultivation, rights of passage, cleansing, dance of warriors, and welcoming in royalty. We will weave in the lessons of the day and share reflections from what we learned to support a wholesome experience of the class.

This workshop series takes place in lieu of Community Jazz on the following Wednesdays: October 5 from 5:45-6:45pm, and November 9 and December 7, from 5:45-7:15PM.

The first workshop on October 5 is at the HOUSY DOME (Housatonic Community Center: 1064 Main St, Housatonic, MA 01236) due to cold weather (no longer at the Housatonic Park) and is FREE for all participants. Workshops on November 9 and December 7 will take place at Berkshire Pulse and are $20 per workshop, or pay with Class Passes 10 for $170 or 20 for $300.

Registration required for all participants (to use a class pass, select “cash on delivery” at checkout).
