Tuition Assistance Program
Pulse provides a place where all people can come to experience the joy, self-confidence and
discipline that performing arts training instills and be nourished by these vital arts. Pulse has
never turned away a student for an inability to pay. In fact, up to 35% of current participants –
both youth and adults – receive some level of tuition assistance.
Every year, Pulse’s Tuition Assistance Program assists children and adults in the Southern
Berkshire region who cannot afford tuition to attend the dance, movement, world music and
theater classes of their choice.
Through this vital program, Pulse provides a place where all people, regardless of their
economic status, can come to express themselves, connect with one another and learn how to
lead a healthy, active life. Because of this program, we are able to never turn away a student
for an inability to pay
Due to the economic challenges many local residents are facing today, the need for the TAP
continues to grow. The annual budget for TAP is $30,000. Approximately 50 participants are
awarded between 20% and 100% assistance, ranging from $200 to $600 per student.

Pulse offers a 50% discount for Performing Arts Program Enrollments and Community Classes to families with a MA EBT card. No forms are required, however the EBT card must be presented in person. This discount through Pulse is ongoing, and through July 2018, the EBT program is funded through the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Card to Culture Program to help make Pulse more accessible to our community.
