Beside the Housatonic River that weaves through our county, Berkshire Pulse has made a home in a beautifully reimagined mill space that serves our community of movers throughout the Berkshires (and beyond). We moved into our home at 420 Park Street in 2014, after an extensive three-year fundraising campaign—and a lot of generosity from architects, builders, donors, community friends, and family.
It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, creating, and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Muhheaconneok people, who are the indigenous peoples of the land upon which Berkshire Pulse sits. Despite the tremendous hardship of being forced from their land, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we dedicate our resources and privileges to building a more inclusive, equitable, and respectful space for all.
Hours of Operation
Berkshire Pulse’s administrative office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am – 4pm.
The Berkshire Pulse studios are open at other times of the day and week for classes, rehearsals, and private rentals. See the current class and studio schedule here.
Getting to Berkshire Pulse
Berkshire Pulse is located in the heart of Housatonic, a village of Great Barrington, in an historic mill building right off the Housatonic river. We occupy the entire third floor of 420 Park Street, and you can access our studios via stairs in the front of the building, as well as an elevator in the back. All spaces are accessible by wheelchair and to those with limited mobility.

Parking
Please park alongside the right-hand side of the building or directly in front.
Free street parking is also available along Park Street. If parking on Park Street, please be mindful that it is a busy road and make sure you and your family are alert when crossing.
There is one ADA parking spot directly in front of the building. For those needing to use the elevator to access the third floor – especially for those using a wheelchair, walker, or other mobility aid – we recommend parking in one of the three ADA-labeled spaces on the right side of the building towards the rear. These parking spaces are closest to the entrance where the elevator is located.

Elevator
Berkshire Pulse is on the third floor of the building. There is a Main Entrance and a Side Parking Lot entrance. Here are videos on how to get to the elevator from both entrances, starting with the main door:

About Our Space
It took a community to build these studios and we want to extend our gratitude to every person and organization who helped bring this space to life. Many thanks to Clark and Green, the architects who designed these studios as a contemporary restoration and reimagining of a historic mill along the Housatonic River.
