CONTEMPORARY – Intermediate+, for adults, teens 14+ welcome
With Gillian Ebersole and Shannon Nulf
This class invites experienced Contemporary dancers to explore elements of alignment, weight, momentum, and movement through space. Class begins with a guided and flowing warm-up with conditioning exercises for dancers (drawing from Yoga and calisthenics). Then, the class will build energy through passes across the floor and opportunities to workshop movement in center. Throughout the session, class material will incorporate intermediate/advanced contemporary technique, floorwork, partnering, improvisation, and group awareness. The joy of teamwork, personal exploration and progress, and expansion of textural qualities will be emphasized. Participants are encouraged to wear pants and long sleeves for ease of movement, and class will be taught in socks or barefoot. Dance knee pads are required for this class and can be purchased at the Front Desk for $20.
