Jazz Dance for Musical Theater

All levels, Ages 18+

Designed for all levels, the class will explore jazz dance found in musical theatre through the ages. From the 20’s and 30’s through the Golden Age to Contemporary, combinations will be choreographed to inspire and enhance the abilities of the participants. Class will start with a full-body warm-up focusing on balance, strengthening the center, dexterity, spacial/body awareness, and particular emphasis on isolations and connecting isolations to the center. Across the floor will focus on technique and steps that will be employed for the combination of the day, including development of character, dramatic action, and imagination. Though some combinations may continue into the next class, each class will be self-contained, making drop-ins welcome.

Wednesdays, 10–11:30 a.m.
September 16th – December 16th

(No class November 11th or November 25th)

All Levels – Anyone who self-identifies in any of the above levels will enjoy these classes! Teachers will gauge experience and teach to the level of the group present.
